Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States to the authors of "original works of authorship," including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works. Section 106 of the 1976 Copyright Act generally gives the owner the exclusive right to do and to authorize others to do certain things.

Protect Your Work Today with our valuable Copyright Help and Guide!

You cannot actually sue someone for infringing your copyright until you have registered your work with the Copyright Office. And, if you register your work within three months from the date of first publication you can collect statutory damages from the one infringing. Otherwise, you are hit with damages that may be only nominal.

To start the actual process of receiving Copyright help, you will need to fill out the appropriate application, send in a filing fee as well as a deposit. The fees are quite reasonable however all monies are non-refundable.
